This viticultural journey includes a guided walk through our home ranch vineyards, planted with sauvignon blanc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon grapes. We will point out reclaimed materials used in the construction of our buildings and share leading water and energy conservation technologies. Winery Hike-in-Place

During Shelter-in-Place, Six Sigma Ranch & Winery has opened up the trails on their 4,300-acre property to the public at no cost. At a 6-foot socially safe distance, guests can enjoy hiking, biking, walking, and running along the many trails, with a stunning vineyard backdrop. The team is also offering wine by the bottle and ranch-raised meat for purchase to take home out of the tasting room, open in a grocery style 9am-4:30pm daily. If you want to use the trails (open 9am-4:30pm), check in at the tasting room located two miles down the driveway.

Six Sigma Ranch Socially Distant Local Wine Delivery

If you live in Lake County, you’re in luck. Six Sigma is delivering wine and ranch-raised meat products with no delivery costs within Hidden Valley, Lakeport, Kelseyville and the rest of Lake County every Wednesday and Thursday. Benziger Earth Day Hike and Wine Tasting

Eco-Tour

Co-located with Garrod Farms Riding Stable, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards is a historic property farmed by generations of the same family since 1893. Led by our Eco-Docent Ramblin’ Bill Bosworth – who’s married to one of the fun cousins who live and work here – this tour looks at much more than vineyards. Our hillsides are home to wonderful plants and include wildlife corridors for the animals. This gentle hillside walk takes it all in plus includes some family lore! Comfortable shoes for dirt trails are advised; water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen at your discretion. The tour is complimentary; $15 tasting fee for flight of five wines afterward.

Join Winemaker Bill Cooper and see the full scope of grape growing and wine making on property farmed by the family since 1893. Learn the evolution of generational family agriculture, the nuances of Organic grape growing, and the reasons why Cooper-Garrod believes in Sustainability throughout its operations. Walk in the Gravel Ridge Chardonnay Vineyard to see spring vines up close and personal. Find out why efficiencies matter in the crush pad. Take in the wonderful aromas of the barrel room. Tablas Creek 2019 Blending Seminar

Our viticulture practices emphasize quality through dry-farming and moderate crop levels. We farm organically, have been certified organic since 2003.

Winemaker Neil Collins will lead a barrel tasting of the individual varietals and a discussion of our blending process, and then set you loose with graduated cylinders to produce your own blend. Lunch will be provided by Chef Jeffery Scott. This event is extremely popular and sells out quickly. The cost is $45 for wine club members and $60 for guests. Conversations at Copia: Sustainable Seafood &Bay Area Watersheds

The CIA at Copia, The Culinary Institute of America’s newest venture in downtown Napa, presents Sustainable Seafood and Bay Area Watersheds as the next event in their series Conversations at Copia. 50th Anniversary of the Agricultural Preserve

In 1968, Napa Valley vintners and others in the community had the forethought to preserve open space and prevent future over-development by enacting the nation’s first Agriculture Preserve. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of this protective land zoning ordinance that established agriculture and open space as the best use for the land in the fertile valley and foothill areas of Napa County.

To honor this milestone, on April 21, celebrated grape grower Andy Beckstoffer, who was instrumental in the Ag Preserve, and Alpha Omega’s renowned winemaker Jean Hoefliger will lead a tour and tasting at historic Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford, where in 2009, 181 acres were placed under a land conservation easement that forever prohibits non-agriculture development. $100 per person. 10:30 A.M. Limited to 20 guests. The Alpha Omega Foundation will donate 100% of tickets sold to local nonprofits to help those affected by the wildfires.

Celebrate Earth Day with Raptors, Cheese & Wine

Co-existing with Wildlife in the Vineyard at Ramona Ranch

Join us for a discussion on the different wild animals in our area, how they are good for biodiversity, which results in healthier ecosystems. Presentation will include a discussion on how the choices we make impact wildlife, and why they may end up in care centers, importance of co-existing, and how to humanely encourage their departure. Learn about skunks, opossums, and other “nuisance” animals and the impact of rodenticide on our local raptors.

Earth Day Hike and Wine Tasting

Chris Benziger will be leading a walk around our Sonoma Mountain ranch, sharing stories about the property, Biodynamic farming, and the history behind the vineyard. This will be a great way to celebrate Mother Earth and the beauty of this unique property in Glen Ellen. You can also enjoy a tasting of some some Estate Wines, including the Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Paradiso de Maria and the Flagship Biodynamic wine, Tribute. Hike and tasting will last roughly 90 minutes.

Vineyard Walk & Scavenger Hunt

Join in the excitement of the beginnings of the 2018 vintage with a trek around our beautiful, sustainably farmed vineyard. You’ll be on the lookout for natural elements and who knows what else on the scavenger list, with fabulous prizes to be awarded! The walk includes a few hills and vales and takes about an hour (we won’t make you walk!), with a few “wine stops” along the way. We’ll end up at our vineyard pond to be rewarded with a seasonal brunch and paired wines under the shade of the Cottonwood trees.
